Work is well underway at the new MacKillop Building site at Marist-Sion College. The old portables have been demolished and the team have finished the concrete pours. From here, we’ll see a lot of change happen quickly. The $3.8 million dollar MacKillop Building is a significant capital project delivering six purpose-built learning spaces, three study nooks, two staff offices, a locker bay, toilets and a large central open hub. This project will feature a series of covered walkways to connect learning spaces and locker bays. When completed, Marist-Sion College will have a new learning environment to develop new knowledge and skills in order to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts presented. It will be a place of active learning, seeking to foster students’ learning and their autonomy, giving our students greater involvement and control over their learning and giving them skills of life-long learning. #activelearning
